Marathon Digital Holdings has achieved a new operational milestone, reaching 50 EH/s of deployed hashrate following the completion of its 200MW expansion site in Ethiopia. The achievement makes Marathon the largest publicly traded Bitcoin miner in the United States by operational hashrate.
Energy Strategy
The Ethiopia facility leverages hydroelectric power at an average cost of $0.028/kWh—among the lowest globally—significantly improving Marathon's competitive position. The company aims to reach 75 EH/s by year-end through additional deployments in Paraguay and Texas.
